(2024) I live in a city where the local government gives subsidies to two old guys so they can buy grey paint and little rollers to cover up graffiti and stickers on power boxes. Personally, I’d rather live in a city where the municipality invests in its artists to help bring colour to the streets. But unfortunately, that’s not the case. So I decided to take matters into my own hands, and with some risk to my own safety, to start decorating the city myself. That’s how these “Street Flowers” came to life. So far, I’ve gifted nine Street Flowers to the residents and visitors of Hoorn.
