(2023) Together with my good friend Levi Noë, I’m co-hosting a safe, open art studio for young people this year. We’re doing this in collaboration with De Blauwe Schuit (a local centre for art education) and the Dutch mental health organisation GGZ. We call the studio TOPS. Levi has a lot of experience in the world of creative workshops and is also the city poet of Hoorn. As for me (you already know) I’m a professional visual artist and also someone with lived experience when it comes to getting stuck or struggling as a young person.
Every Wednesday morning, we have access to a beautiful studio space at De Blauwe Schuit. That’s where we bring our skills and experiences together, creating all sorts of art with the participating young people and also just having a bit of fun.
(So yeah… I guess I’m officially an art teacher now or something like that. Hahah!)
